Job summary

Nautica, located in New York, is seeking an Assistant Merchandiser to support the merchandising team and partner with the Merchandiser on day-to-day operations. You will oversee PO lifecycle, markdowns, weekly reporting, and data integrity across systems, while contributing to pricing and assortment planning.

The role requires 1–2 years of related experience, strong organizational and analytical skills, and proficiency in MS Word and Excel.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising or related field.
1–2 years’ experience as an Assistant Buyer preferred.
Strong retail math knowledge and application.
Excellent written and oral communication.
Proven ability to multi-task and work with urgency.
Proficient in Excel and Word; data-driven reporting.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the full lifecycle of Purchase Orders and markdowns; issue and reconcile orders between systems.
Create and maintain weekly selling reports, historical sales reports, store and best-seller reports.
Assist with reviewing and reacting to sales performance and selling reports.
Maintain data integrity in systems and documentation (Seasonal Buys, Compass, Product Overview Sheets).
Assist with pricing strategies to maximize sales, margin, and inventory management.
Assist in developing assortment plans, sales forecasts, and analyzing sales figures.
Manage samples by season for meetings, archives, shoots, and sample sales.
Coordinate e-commerce photo shoots and ensure product goes live on time; manage calendars and EPS sheets.
