Job summary

Clune Construction seeks an Assistant MEP Coordinator to lead the planning, installation, startup, and commissioning of key MEP equipment on mission-critical and healthcare projects. This role requires coordinating 3D model work, processing submittals, handling RFIs, tracking progress, and closing punch lists with subcontractors and vendors.

You will liaison with project teams to prioritize MEP information and ensure safety standards are upheld.

Qualifications

• Must be a critical thinker with good problem-solving abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication across teams and clients.
• Experience reading drawings and specifications; attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Model coordination for MEP with project team during Preconstruction.
• Organize startup and commissioning documentation with subcontractors and vendors.
• Coordinate MEP information for Project Management and design teams.
• Oversee MEP-related MOPs and cutover activities.
• Lead commissioning documentation with subcontractors, vendors, and commissioning agent.
• Schedule vendor startup and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate MEP client training and knowledge transfer.
• Utilize Clune systems and technology to maintain high standards.
• Promote safety culture and OSHA compliance at sites.

Overview

The Assistant MEP Coordinator focuses on the proper planning, installation, startup, and commissioning of key MEP equipment. The position is essential in Mission Critical environments, but also helps with Health Care and TI projects. Responsibilities include coordination of the MEP model, guidance with processing MEP submittals, provide expertise with MEP related RFIs, track MEP construction progress, organize startup and commissioning documentation, and work with subcontractor and vendors to close punch list items.

Responsibilities

• Role model professionally for Interns, Project Engineers, Senior Project Engineers, and new AMEPs.

• Identify and prioritize MEP information for Project Management team during Preconstruction.

• Initiate and schedule 3D Model coordination for assigned projects.

• Experience with and knowledge of the installation of MEP systems, BIM Modeling, and Construction Management

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, or Engineering or equivalent industry experience required.

• 2-5 years of experience managing commercial interior, healthcare and/or mission-critical projects.

• Background in MEP trades and technical knowledge of construction methods a plus.

• Strong computer skills needed.

• Ability to navigate 3D modeling software a plus.
