Position Summary:

The Assistant Mentoring BCBA (aMBCBA) serves as a key clinical leader, responsible for supporting and guiding early-career BCBAs through structured mentorship, performance oversight, and professional development. This role requires a balance of billable service provision and leadership responsibilities to ensure high-quality client outcomes and the growth of the clinical team. The aMBCBA leads team meetings, hosts office hours, and maintains clinical excellence through auditing and training initiatives.

Reporting Structure:

The aMBCBA reports to the Clinical Director and collaborates with other AMBCBAs and MBCBAs, providing mentorship to ensure clinical and operational excellence.

Essential Job Functions:
  1. Clinical Supervision & Mentorship:
    • Provide structured mentorship and guidance to BCBAs.
    • Offer scheduled office hours for clinical case support, ethical considerations, and documentation.
    • Conduct coaching sessions to improve BCBA competencies.
    • Act as an onboarding mentor for new hires.
    • Support BCBAs in requesting private meetings or referrals for complex cases, providing evidence-based recommendations.
  2. Performance Monitoring & Compliance Auditing:
    • Conduct audits of BCBAs' performance, including KPI adherence.
    • Review report submissions and implement corrective actions as needed.
    • Analyze department-wide KPI trends with leadership.
    • Monitor documentation and compliance with ethical standards.
  3. Training & Development:
    • Develop and maintain a Clinical Resource Training Library.
    • Lead team meetings on clinical updates and professional development.
    • Conduct targeted training workshops.
    • Refine training protocols and competency checklists.
    • Collaborate to ensure training materials meet industry standards.
  4. Case Oversight & Quality Assurance:
    • Provide case consultation and troubleshooting.
    • Monitor client progress and modify treatment plans accordingly.
    • Oversee treatment fidelity through case reviews.
    • Participate in team meetings to review client progress.
    • Serve as a liaison for high-priority cases.
  5. Organizational Leadership & Operations:
    • Assist in workflow optimization and time management.
    • Recommend improvements in clinical workflows.
    • Support policy updates and clinical initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • BCBA Certification in good standing.
  • 2-3 years of experience in ABA.
  • Experience mentoring or supervising RBTs or BCBAs preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of ABA principles and ethical guidelines.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage clinical oversight while maintaining billable hours.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in mentorship and clinical leadership.
  • Familiarity with data software, KPI auditing, and documentation systems.
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback.
  • Interest in professional growth in mentorship and leadership.
