Assistant Men's Ice Hockey Coach (Part-Time)

Responsibilities

• In compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations of Alvernia University, the NCAA, and the MAC, direct and organize all aspects of the assistant coach role as indicated in the Alvernia University Coaches Manual.
• Assist the University's intercollegiate athletics program and establish policies that support both the development of competitive teams and the educational goals of student-athletes.
• Assist in recruiting and retaining academically and athletically qualified student-athletes.
• Represent and/or perform the duties of the head coach in their absence.
• Maintain understanding of all relevant rules and regulations and report violations immediately.
• Pass the NCAA Division III Recruiting Test.
• Promote Franciscan ideals and adherence to the University’s Mission.

Position Details

Position: Assistant Ice Hockey Coach (Part-Time)

Essential Functions

• Same as responsibilities listed above.

Additional Responsibilities

• Attend all mandatory meetings and training sessions.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and/or Director of Athletics.

Position Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Prior coaching and/or playing experience, preferably at the collegiate level.
• Knowledge of NCAA Division III rules.
• CPR Certification.
• Commitment to the mission and values of Alvernia University.
• Ability to work nights and weekends.
