Job summary

Dominican University in River Forest, IL, seeks an Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach to assist in overseeing the program and supporting student development in a Catholic liberal arts setting.

The role requires prior coaching experience and familiarity with NCAA Division III rules, with duties spanning recruitment, budgeting, schedule development, academics, travel logistics, and compliance support.

Qualifications

• Previous coaching experience required; collegiate coaching experience preferred.
• Familiarity with NCAA Division III rules and regulations.
• Experience and competence with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
• Strong organizational and written skills.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to NCAA, conference, and Dominican University rules and regulations.
• Identify and recruit academically and athletically qualified candidates to maintain the roster range.
• Assist in managing the operating budget and agency account for the program.
• Contribute to the development of a competitive schedule.
• Monitor and support the academic performance of student-athletes.
• Coordinate team travel and meal arrangements.
• Collaborate with the Athletics Business Manager to meet team transportation needs.
• Assist with the purchase, distribution, collection, and inventory of team uniforms, equipment, and supplies.
• Updating, educating staff, and overseeing the compliance of the Department of Athletics camp manual
• Assist in developing, coordinating and growing the Department of Athletics camps and recreational programming
• Serving as the liaison to surrounding communities for camps/clinics
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
