Qualifications

• This position may require the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure per Texas EO-GA-48.
• Preferred: Master's degree and five (5) years of experience as a men's tennis coach in a university setting.

Job Summary

The Assistant Men's Tennis Coach assists theHead Men's Tennis Coach in the daily management of the Men's TennisProgram. This role is responsible for assisting in the recruitmentof prospective student athletes, assisting with on court coaching,serving as a community relations liaison for the Men's TennisProgram to public and assisting with monitoring the academicprogress of student athletes.

Core Responsibilities

1. Assists in recruiting quality student athletes.
2. Assists in conducting practice sessions and be present duringstrength and conditioning sessions.
3. Assists in establishing training rules for student-athletes andkeeping them informed of acceptable standards of conduct.
4. Performs game-day management duties.
5. Assists with developing game schedules and equipment purchasesthat will allow the men's tennis teams to stay within theirapproved budgets.
6. Assists in monitoring satisfactory academic progress ofstudent-athletes.
7. Be knowledgeable of and adherence to NCAA and Conference rulesand regulations.
8. Monitors the compliance to NCAA and Conference rules andpolicies by student athletes.
9. Responsible for the execution of effective systems of internalcontrol which provides reasonable assurance that operations areeffective and efficient, assets are safeguarded, financial.
10. Travels as needed to support tournament participation andrecruiting activities at the request of the coaching staff.
11. Represents UTSA at American Athletic Conference and nationalmeetings.
12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
• Three (3) years of experience as a men's tennis student athleteor coach.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree from an accredited university.
• Five (5) years of experience as a men's tennis coach in auniversity setting.
• Experience playing tennis on the professional circuit.

This position will work primarily on campus. Travel and parking expenses are the employee's responsibility.
