Overview of Responsibilities

As the Assistant Meat & Seafood Manager, you will help customers make healthy food choices by providing excellent customer service and managing a busy team.

• Assist the Meat & Seafood Manager in managing and merchandising the department for productivity and profit.
• Handle ordering, inventory control, product quality, and supervise the Meat & Seafood team.
• Coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork.
• Lead a team to ensure high-quality products, excellent service, and a great customer experience.
• Participate in hiring, training, and developing team members.
• Manage weekly ad items, inventory, and ordering; ensure department practices for freshness and quality, following programs like “Clean as You Go” and “Fresh at 4”.
• Unload and sort deliveries, operate and maintain equipment.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.

Qualifications

To qualify as an Assistant Meat Manager at Sprouts Farmers Market, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old with basic math, weights, and measures knowledge. Have at least 2 years of professional experience, proven leadership, and 2-3 years retail experience in Meat departments is preferred.
• Be dependable, reliable, and perform other duties as assigned.
• Have an outgoing, friendly demeanor, positive attitude, and good customer interaction skills.
• Be flexible to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Have good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the department.
• Follow safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations and company recipes.
• Be capable of standing for up to 8 hours, walking up to 2 miles per shift.
• Work in a temperature-controlled area and use sharp tools safely.
• Lift/carry products weighing 25-90 lbs., move pallets, racks, and tables as specified.
