Job summary

Food City in Sevierville, TN is seeking a Meat Department team member to promote exceptional customer service and lead by example. You will help keep the department clean, assist in scheduling, inventory, pricing, and merchandising, and support the meat manager in food safety and operations.

The role requires flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays, with a positive attitude and willingness to train new associates. On-site work is essential.

Qualifications

Essential Job Functions

• Always provide and promote exceptional customer service in support of the company mission to “Run the Best Store in Town!”
• Lead by example and set the standard for customer service, associate relations, cleanliness, sanitation, professional appearance, and overall profitability
• Maintain a positive attitude; create an atmosphere of friendliness and fun through flexibility and teamwork.
• Generate a positive, friendly, and fun working environment with a customer first initiative by encouraging associates to greet and speak to customers, provide prompt, courteous, and efficient customer service.
• Interact professionally with management team, associates, supervision, and customers
• Supervise the cutting room and assist the meat manager in enforcing and maintaining the company food safety program
• Assist in making schedules
• Assist in ordering and maintaining inventory level according to the department’s daily needs
• Maintain proper pricing
• Merchandise all meat department products
• Assist in weekly cutting test and profit projections
• Assist in taking meat inventory
• Assist in all departmental paperwork
• Keep workstation and area around workstation neat and clean
• Assist in stocking and rotation of processed meat products
• Take telephone orders from customers
• Wrapping and weighing meat products
• Assist in maintaining all policies and procedures including all local, state, and federal regulations as it pertains to the Meat department
• Assist in training new associates
• Maintain a clean and safe department according to company standards utilizing Sanitation schedules and daily to-do lists
• Other duties may be assigned as needed
