Job summary

Manulife Financial (John Hancock) seeks an Assistant Marketing Manager to shape member marketing and drive engagement for Vitality. You’ll develop communications, manage assets, and collaborate across teams to deliver impact across campaigns and experiences.

You’ll leverage Marketo and analytics to measure success, maintain consistent branding, and ensure compliance. The role emphasizes test-and-learn, ownership, and cross-functional partnership in a hybrid environment.

Qualifications

  • 2 to 3 years of marketing experience in life insurance, financial services, health, wellness, loyalty, or related industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business or a related field is an asset.
  • Experience developing and executing campaigns for customer marketing, lifecycle marketing, and/or retention marketing.
  • Strong writing and messaging skills; ability to simplify complex topics for varied audiences.
  • Experience using marketing automation platforms, such as Marketo, to build communications and optimize emails.
  • Comfort working with data and analytics partners to measure campaign performance and derive insights.
  • Strong communication management skills; ability to manage timelines and approvals across multiple initiatives.
  • Curious, creative, proactive, test-and-learn mindset; decisive problem solving.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and support marketing communications that increase Vitality awareness and engagement among members.
  • Maintain day-to-day member marketing communications.
  • Manage the development of emails, landing pages, one-pagers, presentation content, FAQs, toolkits and other campaign assets.
  • Use data, insights and performance reporting to evaluate campaign effectiveness and optimization opportunities.
  • Execute launch strategies for Vitality features, partner benefits, and member experiences.
  • Maintain a portfolio of marketing materials ensuring branding and regulatory compliance.
  • Proactively manage campaign timelines, stakeholder reviews, approvals and day-to-day execution.
  • Bring curiosity and a test-and-learn mindset to improve Vitality communications.

John Hancock’s U.S. insurance growth strategy depends on bringing the full value of John Hancock Vitality to life for our members.This role will help develop,executeand optimize audience-led marketing strategies that deepen member engagement and help support our Customers Digitally Active goals.

Reporting to the Director, Head of Activation and Vitality Marketing, this role will support integrated marketing plans across member marketing, including messaging, content development, execution, performancemeasurementand cross-functional coordination.The ideal candidate is a thoughtful marketer who can connect strategy to execution, translate complex health and insurance concepts into clear communications and partner across teams to deliver high-quality work that moves the business forward.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Develop and support marketing communications that increase John Hancock Vitality awareness, understanding, adoption and engagement among members.
  • Maintain day-to-day member marketing communications
  • Manage the development of marketing materials including emails, landing pages, one-pagers, presentation content, talking points, FAQs,toolkitsand other campaign assets.
  • Use data,insightsand performance reporting to evaluate campaign effectiveness,identifyoptimizationopportunitiesand connect marketing activity to member engagement metrics and business outcomes.

Required Qualifications:
  • 2 to 3 years of marketing experience, ideally in life insurance, financial services, health, wellness, loyalty, customerengagementora relatedindustry.

Salary range is expected to be between

$73,350.00 USD - $122,250.00 USD

Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
