Job summary

Wegmans in Owings Mills, MD is offering a structured six-month training program designed to develop future leaders. You will work closely with a mentor and trainer while gaining hands-on experience in daily store operations.

During the program you will manage employee performance, deliver outstanding customer service, and help solve operational challenges while maintaining open communication with management. Successful completion leads to an interview for or placement as a Team Leader.

Work Environment: The physical demands of this work are classified as medium. Work includes walking, standing for long periods, repetitive hand and arm movements, occasional heavy lifting, bending, climbing, and reaching, along with continuous interaction with customers and coworkers in a fast-paced environment. May be asked to work at cash register station (see Cashier). The average weight range of items lifted is 5 – 20 pounds with a maximum weight lifted of 50 pounds occasionally. You may receive assistance with heavy items, if available. Upper extremity repetition is moderate and trunk movement involves moderate twisting, bending, and pivoting. May be exposed to various allergens (things that may cause an allergic reaction). The work environment is indoors with occasional exposure to cold (33° – 55°) temperatures near hot equipment (exceeds 135°) and seasonal outdoor temperatures and weather.
