Overview
Job Summary Assists the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department. Replenishes product throughout the store. Increases customer confidence and loyalty by promoting and executing consistent and compliant operating conditions. Provides fresh and appealing products, courteous, knowledgeable and prompt service. Responsibilities
- SERVICE: 70% — Creates an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated to help build and retain customer confidence and loyalty. Ensures the department is merchandised per plan. Delivers daily conditions that meet the company’s expectations for at shelf product availability, freshness, product rotation, inventory levels, stocking (including maintaining POG integrity and shelf price tags/signage), ordering and cooler/freezer conditioning. Offers customers assistance in finding or suggesting product.
- LEADERSHIP: 10% — Promotes trust and respect among associates by collaborating, promoting teamwork, and communicating company, department, and job specific information. Adheres to all local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines.
- FINANCIAL: 10% — Maintains an awareness of inventory/stocking conditions and reports any discrepancies. Reviews/inspects products for quality and freshness and takes appropriate action with those items. Ensures product is held at the proper temperature per food safety guidelines and retains documentation of temperature logs per policy.
- COMPLIANCE/SAFETY: 10% — Ensures company standards for safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation and productivity are maintained. Adheres to regulatory compliance requirements pertaining to food safety, USDA & COOL, and DOA. Executes all product recalls and withdrawals in a timely manner. Reinforces safety programs, inspects and identifies unsafe conditions, reports to store management. Notifies management of accidents. Reports safety risks, illegal activity, robbery, theft or fraud. Ensures adherence to wage and hour policies and regulations. Cultivates a culture of safety. Ensures associates are trained, hazards are posted, and PPE is available and used. Ensures equipment is in good repair and reports/remediates safety hazards.
Qualifications
Required Education / Experience
- High School / GED
- Preferred: English, Spanish
- Relevant Experience: Supervisory Experience
- 0 - 3 yrs minimum
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain the same.
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal, motivational and communication skills.
Environmental Factors
Retail - General Heavy: Physical Demands: While performing essential functions, stand/walk on various floors, use manual dexterity, talk, see, hear, and perform repetitive movements. Reach at waist level or overhead; carry, push, or lift loads as required. May sit, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and climb up to 30 ft. Working conditions may be indoor, outdoor, cold, freezing, heated, and wet/humid. Safety risks include slips, hazardous equipment, sharp objects; exposure to loud noise, irritants, nuisance dust, fumes, and cleaning solutions. Equipment includes cleaning and office equipment, registers, scales, scanners, pallets, carts. Personal Protective Equipment as required. Pulling up to 250 lbs. and lifting up to 50 lbs. may be required.
