Job summary

Peyton Company Great Clips is hiring an Assistant Salon Manager in Minnesota. This role supports the manager in driving performance, delivering the 5 Steps to Customer Care, and leading a team of stylists in a fast-paced environment.

You will coach and mentor staff, ensure excellent customer service, and maintain a welcoming salon atmosphere while managing day-to-day operations and safety at the location.

Qualifications

• Cosmetology license required or manager license per state regulations.
• Flexible schedule including weekends and evenings.
• Passion for delivering great customer service and living the 5 Steps to Customer Care.
• Comfort using a computer to track customer information and records.
• Strong people-management skills for recruiting, training, developing, and retaining staff.

Responsibilities

• Assist the manager in setting expectations so every stylist delivers outstanding service.
• Lead by example during peak times, including weekends.
• Serve as role model to reinforce the Stylist Job Description.
• Drive salon growth and monitor performance metrics.
• Coach, develop and mentor team members to reach their potential.
• Resolve issues such as overages, shortages and invoices quickly and effectively.
• Foster a fun, positive work environment that staff enjoy.
• Maintain salon safety and security for staff and customers.

As an Assistant Salon Manager, You'll assist the manager in:

Requirements

What You'll Bring:

• Current cosmetology, barber, or manager license per state/province regulations
• A flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings
• A genuine passion for great customer service
• Commitment to living out the 5 Steps to Customer Care
• Stamina to cut hair for extended periods and deliver quality cuts in a fast-paced environment
• Strong listening skills to really understand what a customer wants
• A knack for resolving customer issues efficiently and effectively
• Comfort using a computer to track customer information
• Solid people-management skills — recruiting, training, developing, motivating, and retaining your team
• The ability to lead a team that's bought into company goals and values

Peyton Company assistant salon managers are required to work 34+ floor hours a week and 5 weekend days a month. Great Clips experience preferred. 3+ years of hair-cutting experience preferred.
