Position Summary

The Assistant Manager of Stores and Receiving is responsible for managing, coordinating, and supervising the activities of the stores and receiving facility at Mount Sinai Medical Center. Additionally, the role involves providing operational and budgetary reports to management.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and establish work schedules and assignments for Supervisors; monitor performance to meet goals.
  • Recruit, interview, and select employees for bargaining and non-bargaining positions.
  • Provide feedback on operations, staff productivity, and budget variances to the Corporate Director of Materials Management.
  • Develop cost and labor-saving measures; ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Establish and maintain policies and procedures for hospital receiving and inventory control.
  • Maintain stock levels, coordinate replenishment with vendors and distribution centers.
  • Train supervisors on Inventory Control applications.
  • Prepare reports on activity volume and staff productivity; advise on resource needs.
  • Participate in labor relations activities, including disciplinary actions and grievances.
  • Follow-up with departments to ensure quality service.
  • Develop policies for Emergency Preparedness for Stores and Receiving.
  • Monitor and access vendor service agreements for equipment maintenance.
  • Participate in bi-annual physical inventories.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum four years in Material Management/Stores & Receiving, including two years supervisory experience.
Compensation

The salary range is $58,661 - $80,818 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. This does not include bonuses or additional benefits.
