GPM Investments, LLC in Charlottesville, VA is seeking an Assistant Manager to keep our high-energy convenience store energized and running smoothly on every shift. You will support the Store Manager in daily operations, run the register with speed and accuracy, coach teammates, help hire and train staff, manage schedules, and oversee inventory, merchandising, and cash handling.

Open availability, reliability, and a passion for customer service are essential.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience and strong communication skills.
• Willing to work weekends, holidays, and second/third shifts.
• Food Safety Certification (or ability to obtain) required.
• Minimum age 21 years.
• Reliable transportation and access to a vehicle.
• Basic math skills and accuracy in transactions.

What You’ll Do

• Support the Store Manager in all aspects of day-to-day operations.
• Run the register and assist customers with speed, accuracy, and a great attitude.
• Coach and motivate team members to consistently upsell products and promotions.
• Help hire, train, and lead a high-performing team focused on customer service and store success.
• Step in as acting manager when the Store Manager is off.
• Handle inventory, ordering, and merchandising to keep the store fully stocked.
• Maintain a clean, welcoming store—including restrooms, trash areas, and fuel pumps.
• Create and manage team schedules to ensure full coverage.
• Perform daily cash handling, deposits, and oversee store financials.
• Provide feedback and leadership that motivates your team to excel.
