Job summary

GPM Investments seeks an Assistant Manager for our fas mart store. Located in Mechanicsville, this role drives daily operations, customer service, and team leadership while you help ensure a fast, accurate checkout and a welcoming store environment.

You will supervise staff, manage schedules, assist with inventory, and step in as acting manager as needed. This role requires open availability, strong English communication, and a commitment to learning and growth.

Qualifications

• Open Availability: weekends and holidays, and likely second or third shifts.
• Reliable transportation with valid driver's license, personal vehicle, and proof of insurance.
• Physical readiness for cleaning restrooms and maintaining outside areas.
• English communication and basic math skills required.
• Certification: Food Safety Certification or ability to obtain it.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in day-to-day operations.
• Run the register and assist customers with speed and accuracy.
• Coach and motivate team to upsell products and promotions.
• Help hire, train, and lead a high-performing team.
• Step in as acting manager when the Store Manager is off.
• Handle inventory, ordering, and merchandising.
• Maintain a clean, welcoming store including restrooms and pumps.
• Create and manage team schedules for full coverage.
• Perform daily cash handling, deposits, and oversee store financials.
• Provide feedback and leadership to motivate the team.
• Other duties as assigned.
