JOB DESCRIPTION AND REQUIREMENTS

Food Services Supervisors oversee food service operations at residential or retail dining locations, managing staff including full-time, part-time, students, and temporary employees. Responsibilities include ensuring quality customer service, supervising personnel, maintaining regulatory compliance, managing costs, and supporting business growth.

  • Create an environment of excellent customer service; monitor food quality and service standards.
  • Hire, train, supervise, evaluate staff; manage scheduling; enforce standards.
  • Ensure food quality control; conduct compliance inspections; adhere to policies and guidelines.
  • Address issues with staff, customers, vendors; provide guidance; escalate as needed.
  • Maintain environmental standards; oversee equipment and facility maintenance; participate in upgrades.
  • Analyze budgets, costs, and growth opportunities; prepare reports and recommendations.
  • Manage inventory; purchase supplies; negotiate prices; resolve quality issues.
  • Research and develop new products, menus, recipes, and concepts under management guidance.
  • Manage special events and catering; plan and execute functions.
  • Participate in collective bargaining, grievance procedures, and university initiatives.
Education and Experience

Bachelor's Degree plus 3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Compensation
