Job summary

Marcus Theatres is hiring a Part Time Assistant Manager to lead daily theatre operations, supervise staff, manage scheduling, cash handling, and opening/closing procedures in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment.

You will train and coach associates, ensure compliance with policies and safety standards, troubleshoot projection and sound equipment, handle guest concerns, and help drive sales and initiatives while growing your career across Marcus properties.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with supervisory experience in a high-volume theatre, cinema, retail, or hospitality setting.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Eager to learn new skills, tasks, and software to meet evolving industry demands.
• Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily theatre operations including staffing, scheduling, cash handling, and opening/closing procedures.
• Train, coach, and develop associates while fostering a positive and service-driven environment.
• Manage inventory, order supplies, and monitor cleanliness, maintenance, and safety across all areas.
• Operate and troubleshoot projection and sound equipment, as well as POS and other theatre systems.
• Support hiring processes, orientation, and ongoing associate development.
• Ensure compliance with corporate policies, local laws, audit processes, and PCI regulations.
• Handle guest concerns with professionalism, ensuring positive service recovery and managing theatre communications.
• Analyze business trends to drive sales, optimize schedules, and support corporate initiatives.

What we are looking for:

• Must be at least 18 years old with supervisory experience in a high-volume theatre, cinema, retail, or hospitality setting.

• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

• Eager to learn new skills, tasks, and software to meet evolving industry demands.

• Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays.

• Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.

• Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs; work involves standing, walking, and occasional sitting.

• Ability to obtain food handling licenses as required by local/state laws.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; business or marketing coursework preferred.
