Job summary

National Vision, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Eyeglass Manager to oversee daily store operations, including personnel management and inventory control, while maintaining exceptional customer service. You will supervise Opticians and sales associates, coordinate promotions, and ensure compliance with company policies.

The role focuses on leading teams, forecasting staffing needs, and driving performance across the eyeglass department to meet sales goals and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Optical sales experience preferred.
• Supervising experience preferred.
• Ability to lead and coach associates and manage teams.
• Strong understanding of store operations and policies.
• Strong written and verbal communication; good organizational skills.
• Ability to analyze and understand financial reports and metrics.
• Problem-solving across varied scopes.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and achieve profit, sales and performance goals (review P&L).
• Oversee eyeglass department efficiency and compliance with policies.
• Provide outstanding customer service and ensure staff deliver it too.
• Review quality standards, remakes, and enforce compliance policies.
• Communicate with General Manager, District Manager, and Corporate Office; provide store reporting.
• Ensure promotions, advertising, and visual merchandising are implemented; inform associates and doctors of promotions.
• Supervise and motivate Opticians and CL Sales associates; manage day-to-day tasks.

• Monitor and achieve profit, sales and performance goals (i.e. reviewing the P&L).
• Optimize and oversee the eyeglass department to ensure efficiency and compliance with company’s policies and operational guidelines.
• Convey a commitment to providing outstanding customer service and ensure all associates do the same.
• Ensure quality standards are met. Review remakes and enforce policies to ensure compliance.
• Communicate with the General Manger, District Manager, and Corporate Office and provide store reporting as required.
• Ensure store promotions, advertising, and visual merchandising are in place and all associates and doctors are aware of current promotions.
• Supervise and motivate Opticians and CL Sales associates (in some stores the Receptionist) and ensures the timely completion of day-to-day functions.
• Assist the General Manager with forecasting staffing needs, recruiting, selecting and retaining a high caliber staff.
• Motivate associates to exceed performance standards.
• In some locations, state laws require certain responsibilities to be performed by individuals with specific licenses or credentials. Job duties and work practices may vary to meet these requirements.
