Job summary

National Vision Eyeglass World in Orange Park, FL, is seeking an Assistant Manager to oversee daily store operations, motivate the team, and ensure customers receive quality eye care with an outstanding shopping experience. You will drive profit, monitor sales against budget, supervise Optical Sales Associates, coordinate with the General Manager and doctors, and translate promotions into daily practice.

Qualifications

• Optical sales experience with leadership exposure is preferred.
• Strong coaching and team-building abilities across a retail setting.
• Solid understanding of store operations and success standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for management of teams.

Responsibilities

• Drive and achieve profit, sales and performance goals according to National Vision standards.
• Monitor sales results against budgeted figures.
• Ensure all store associates achieve and maintain the highest level of customer service.
• Maintain awareness of same day service using the Ready When Promised board.
• Communicate with the General Manager, District Manager, and Corporate Office and provide store reporting as required.
• Develop and maintain relationships with doctors associated with the store and act as liaison between doctor and store personnel.
• Ensure store promotions, advertising, and visual merchandising are in place and understood by all staff and doctors.
• Supervise and motivate Optical Sales Associates and ensure timely completion of day-to-day tasks.
• Assist the General Manager with staffing to store volume and participate in recruiting and retaining staff.
• Motivate associates to exceed performance standards.
• In some locations, state laws require certain responsibilities to be performed by individuals with specific licenses or credentials.

Job Description

• Develop and maintain a good working relationship with doctor(s) associated with the store and serves as liaison between doctor and store personnel.
• Ensure store promotions, advertising, and visual merchandising are in place and all associates and doctors are aware of current promotions.
• Supervise and motivate Optician/Sales Associates and ensures the timely completion of day-to-day functions.
• Assist the General Manager with balancing staffing to store volume. Assist in recruiting, selecting and retaining a high caliber staff.
• Motivate associates to exceed performance standards.
• In some locations, state laws require certain responsibilities to be performed by individuals with specific licenses or credentials. Job duties and work practices may vary to meet these requirements.

Qualifications

• Optical sales experience. Supervising experience is preferred.
• Proven ability to lead, coach and build associate relationships.
• Sound understanding of store operations and standards for success.
• Strong communication skills (both oral and written) for effective management of teams.
• Able to present clear and concise information and respond to questions from managers, associates, and customers.
• Strong organizational skills for planning work and continuously monitoring progress towards goals.
• Ability to analyze, create, and understand financial reports.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems of varied scope.
