Job summary

America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses in Colton, CA is looking for an Assistant Eyeglass Manager to lead daily store operations, drive eyewear sales, manage inventory, and deliver a positive customer experience.

You will coordinate with the General Manager and District Manager, train and motivate your team, and ensure promotions and visual merchandising are executed effectively. This role focuses on leadership, customer service, and store performance within a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Optical sales experience and supervisory background preferred.
• Ability to lead, coach and build strong associate relationships.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Exceptional customer service and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience overseeing store operations and adhering to company standards.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and achieve profit, sales and performance goals (P&L).
• Oversee eyeglass department efficiency and compliance with policies.
• Provide outstanding customer service and ensure staff delivers it too.
• Review remakes and enforce quality standards and policies.
• Communicate with General Manager, District Manager, and Corporate Office; provide store reports.
• Ensure promotions, advertising and visual merchandising are in place; inform staff of current promos.
• Supervise and motivate Opticians and CL Sales associates; ensure day-to-day tasks are completed.
• Assist the General Manager with staffing forecasts, recruitment and retention of staff.
• Motivate associates to exceed performance standards.

Job Description

What would you do? - The Specifics

• Monitor and achieve profit, sales and performance goals (i.e. reviewing the P&L).
• Optimize and oversee the eyeglass department to ensure efficiency and compliance with company's policies and operational guidelines.
• Convey a commitment to providing outstanding customer service and ensure all associates do the same.
• Ensure quality standards are met. Review remakes and enforce policies to ensure compliance.
• Communicate with the General Manger, District Manager, and Corporate Office and provide store reporting as required.
• Ensure store promotions, advertising, and visual merchandising are in place and all associates and doctors are aware of current promotions.
• Supervise and motivate Opticians and CL Sales associates (in some stores the Receptionist) and ensures the timely completion of day-to-day functions.
• Assist the General Manager with forecasting staffing needs, recruiting, selecting and retaining a high caliber staff.
• Motivate associates to exceed performance standards.
