Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Technology Dependent ICU (TDICU) within the Nursing-Management family. This full-time night-shift role focuses on quality initiatives, staffing, and maintaining a safe patient environment.

Required BSN and Georgia RN licensure, with BLS and PALS/PEARS certifications; TDICU or critical care leadership experience is preferred. The position involves collaboration with physicians, inter-professional teams, and hospital leadership

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ RN experience required; TDICU preferred
• BLS certification from AHA within 30 days of employment or on start of clinical shift
• PALS or PEARS certification within 1 year of employment as required

Responsibilities

• Supports delivery of patient care and ensures safe patient flow on TDICU.
• Acts as clinical resource for patient population in area.
• Leads shift, coordinates staffing, and participates in admission/transfer/discharge processes.

Job Description

Works under the direction of the manager to facilitate daily operations, including patient flow, staffing assignments, safe patient care, and to promote a healthy work environment at Children's. This role will be under the Technology Dependent ICU area focusing on Quality initiatives as well as some staffing. It is for Fulltime/Nights but may require some day hours for meetings or special projects.

Experience

• Minimum 2 years’ RN experience required; TDICU preferred

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year of Clinical Nurse 3-5 level or management/administrative experience in a healthcare setting


• Previous ICU, respiratory experience helpful

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Certification Summary

• Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the single State of Georgia or Multi-State through the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact


• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association within 30 days of employment or upon start of clinical shift if working in the Emergency Department (ED)


• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Pediatric Emergency Assessment Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) certification from the American Heart Association within 1 year of employment as required by department specifications


• Professional Nursing certification deemed by department required upon one year of hire
