Responsibilities
  • Support the Senior Engineering Manager in leading and guiding a team of mechanical engineers in the design, development, and testing of package-level connector hardware components and custom cable assemblies.
  • Assist in managing project timelines to ensure milestones and deliverables are met, while communicating progress to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Communicate regularly with customers on key programs during the development and implementation of new hardware and connectors.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams—including signal integrity engineering, product management, and manufacturing to support cohesive product development efforts.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of engineering processes and best practices to improve efficiency and product quality.
  • Help coordinate resource allocation and assist with project planning and budgeting activities.
  • Provide technical support, mentorship, and day-to-day guidance to engineers, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment.
  • Support team growth initiatives, including participation in recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training of new hires.
  • Assist in conducting performance feedback and development discussions with team members.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and engineering tools to help drive innovation within the team.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 3–5+ years of experience in hardware and/or connector development, including precision components and/or sheet metal; cable harnessing experience is a plus.
  • Prior experience in a technical lead role or early-stage supervisory/mentorship capacity within a mechanical engineering team preferred.
  • Strong project coordination, organizational and customer communication skills, with the ability to support multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools.
  • Solid problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
