Salary Breakdown

3+ years of experience: $81,500 - $100,000

4+ years of experience: $92,000 - $112,000

These ranges reflect what BNSF Railway reasonably expects to pay for this position, based on the role's level, scope, and responsibilities. Final compensation and position level will be determined by factors such as job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. In addition to base pay and bonus eligibility, BNSF offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Employment Type and Location

This is a full‑time position located in Fort Worth, TX or Topeka, KS. For certain positions, including this one, employees can work one day per week remotely. Our leaders also foster a culture where work‑life balance, which requires flexibility for when life happens, is important and respected.

Travel is minimal, less than 10%.

Role Overview

This position looks to combine business system & process knowledge with experience in developing applications, automating business processes, and delivering data‑driven solutions to improve efficiency and decision making. This role will support Finance business groups by developing and maintaining applications, reports, dashboards, and other business tools. The ideal candidate is a self‑starter who can work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively with team members as well as business stakeholders to identify and implement practical solutions.

In addition, this role will play a key part in the organization's modernization initiatives, including migration efforts away from mainframe technologies. Responsibilities include supporting the conversion of SAS applications to Python and converting away from other reporting technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders to understand current processes, gather requirements, and identify opportunities for automation and process improvement
• Design, develop, test, and support applications, reports, and automation solutions using technologies such as Power‑BI, Alteryx, or Python
• The ability to leverage technology to gather, analyze, and present actionable information that leadership can use to make tactical and strategic business decisions
• Apply AI‑enabled tools and technologies to accelerate development, documentation, testing, analysis, and other technology‑related activities while maintaining quality and governance standards
• Maintain and enhance existing applications by implementing feature improvements, resolving issues, and optimizing performance
• Document solutions, processes, and technical designs to ensure sustainability and knowledge sharing
• Collaborate with Finance and Technology teams to ensure solutions align with business objectives and technology standards
• Track project performance and report successful completion of short‑term and long‑term goals
• Effectively manage multiple assignments and priorities in a fast‑paced environment while meeting established deadlines

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or minimum of 3 years of professional work experience in Finance, or Technology field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with end‑user reporting tools such as Tableau, Power‑BI, Alteryx, Python, UiPath RPA, .Net, Visual Basic, C# or similar technologies
• Experience in Finance, Accounting, Operations, Supply Chain, or other business functions
• Experience with railroad terminology and operational processes
• Self‑motivator with strong project management and time‑management skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage both short‑term and long‑term objectives
