Qualifications

  • Strong technical abilities including basic software engineering concepts and experience with SQL, VBA, Access and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Operate independently with minimal supervision and meet tight deadlines.
  • Support trade life cycle activities including capture, settlement, onboarding, and client services.
  • Monitor controls, compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with audits, prepare KPI/KRI reporting, and escalate issues as needed.
  • Guide junior team members and support the manager on projects.

Purpose

To contribute to the overall success of the Loan Closing team of CLS ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensure all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

The incumbent will be responsible for a broad array of operational duties including, but not limited to, trade life cycle support, trade control or administration, FOBO reconciliation and STP monitoring, client onboarding, and client services.

Assistant Managers are expected to be individual performers, delivery top quality output, and supporting the Manager in daily activities and on any projects. Incumbents may be asked to instruct or guide junior members of the team and support the manager in performance management duties.

What You'll Do

  • Operating independently, identifying and resolving issues with minimal oversight. Capable and comfortable operating within tight deadlines, able to make quick decisions, and able to quickly learn about the business/issues, without necessarily having any prior direct experience with the subject matter.
  • Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Champions a culture of continuous operational improvement by independently resolving highly complex, multi-faceted problems to meet the business needs across the closing function with a specific focus on creating tangible / measurable operational efficiencies.
  • Performing daily operational activities in support of business lines with a focus on trade life cycle management and customer service:
      • Trade Capture & Trade Settlement
      • Limits Monitoring/Breach Management
      • Documentation/Confirmations
      • Operational Control
      • Onboarding & Enablement
      • Assist with Audit request
      • Reporting KRI/KPIs
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct

What You'll Bring

  • 3 years post-graduate experience in industry or academia in the areas of capital markets, finance and banking and/or process improvement, business analysis and solution implementation
  • Solid knowledge/experience in banking/capital markets operations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to negotiate, influence and interact professionally with a diverse group of Front Office Users, QAs, Developers, and SMEs
  • Demonstrated knowledge of analytical problem solving and process engineering techniques (i.e. process mapping and analysis techniques)
  • Strong technical abilities including knowledge of basic software engineering principles and experience in SQL, VBA, Access, Excel and a sound understanding of operational processes
  • Result oriented, deadline driven, self-motivated
