Assistant Manager – Jamaica IRA 23/25 - Residential Group Home

Job Summary

QSAC is seeking an Assistant Manager for an OPWDD-funded Residential Program. This key role oversees the general operations of QSAC Residences, ensuring a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment that promotes growth and independence for individuals receiving services. The Assistant Manager supports and supervises staff working with residents both in the residential setting and in the community.

Salary Range: $41,000-$45,000 annually

Responsibilities

Residential Operations

  • Review residential binders, including general, medical, and personal allowances
  • Conduct periodic fire drills and safety procedures
  • Complete and submit injury reports for individuals
  • Maintain personal allowance accounts for individuals
  • Coordinate shopping for household items and groceries
  • Maintain relationships with community members and neighbors
  • Assist with residence and individual care as part of staff ratio
  • Create recreational calendars based on individual preferences
  • Manage medication supplies and administration records
  • Coordinate with Nurse and Medical Coordinators for medical appointments

Staff Supervision & Scheduling

  • Supervise direct care professionals (DSP)
  • Report employee relations and disciplinary concerns to the Director
  • Schedule DSP staff to support residences
  • Ensure program goals are implemented by staff

Qualifications and Work Experience

  • High school diploma/GED required
  • 1-2 years’ experience driving large passenger vehicles
  • 1-2 years supporting individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities
  • At least 1 year supervisory experience
  • Patience and ability to follow systematic procedures
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Ability to assist with lifting individuals and items up to 20 lbs.
  • Background/Fingerprint clearance
  • Effective communication skills
  • Commitment to company values and policies
  • Ability to run when needed
