Duties
- Assist with store functions and day‑to‑day store activities.
- Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address any questions or concerns.
- Organize and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor as needed and maintain seasonal areas.
- Perform opening and closing procedures.
- Process corporate directives (Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey requests, and other communications).
- Maintain promotional effectiveness of storefront fixtures and displays.
- Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged merchandise, record keeping (payroll, scheduling, cash register deposits and receipts), and loss prevention.
- Ensure a well‑stocked, organized sales floor and stockroom to company standards.
- Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and ensure all associates follow company policies and procedures.
- Help the Store Manager supervise, train, and develop Store Associates.
- Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment with professional interactions.
- Maintain cleanliness throughout the store (clean bathrooms, sweep/mop floors, dispose trash, keep areas neat).
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ability to read, interpret, and explain operational directives required.
- Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug stores preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. from floor to above shoulder height and tolerate frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
- Ability to work in a high‑energy team environment required.

We are required to obtain specialized licenses for stores that sell alcohol and/or tobacco. A manager may need to provide background information to obtain a license. Failure to comply may lead to demotion or separation of employment.
