Full-Time = 32hr/wk minimum - 40hr/wk maximum
Minimum Weekly Availability Requirements:
4 days of fully open availability (2 of which must be a Fri, Sat, or Sun)
1 additional days with at least 8 hours of availability during operating hours.
Prerequisite:You have worked in a retail position at Loyal Coffee for at least 6 months.

What is the opportunity?
This is an opportunity to serve as the Assistant Manager of Loyal Coffee’s Northgate retail location on the northside of Colorado Springs.
Assistant Managers are charged with leading the cafe to accomplish the Common Goal across the operational week timeframe. Assistant Managers must have an elevated awareness of cafe operations and team performance, and a strong motivation to impact the week’s success. AM’s direct leadership to accomplish the week’s tasks and oversee the placing/receiving of inventory to maintain smooth operations for the week. Also, the Assistant Manager assists their GM with the building and development of weekly schedules, while also acting as the ground floor oversight of the published schedule when the week arrives. They are the first level of support to Shift Supervisors when any issues arise during a shift they are leading. Guiding the coaching the Shift Supervisor to the best outcome for any given situation.
The AM is a critical leader of the team’s growth, culture, and overall performance. They work closely with the GM to assess priorities within the team and then help implement chosen strategies throughout the week. This includes training, coaching, and leading meetings when needed. The AM is an essential source of objective information back to the GM, helping them see clearly whats going well and what could be improved on a day to day level.
What are the tasks?
Lead the cafe’s operational week.
Appropriately asses and direct top priorities for the cafe’s shift leadership to accomplish each week. This includes tasks related to inventory, cleaning, training, and other items seen as contributing to the cafe’s overall success.
Manage ordering decisions, placing orders, receiving orders, and overall inventory maintenance to ensure the cafe always has the supplies it needs to operate each day. Inform GM of order issues or unavailabilities when needed.
Ensure that each day is operating as intended with schedule running as planned, policies being adhered to, and procedures being followed. Coach and lead Shift Supervisors when there are items out of alignment. Support the Shift Supervisors and enable them to be the best leaders of their shift possible. Celebrate Shift Supervisors in their wins each day.
Help lead challenges and situations that arise. This includes issues with the scheduled day, guests, inventory, and equipment. Many simple situations can be handled directly by the AM, and occasionally they need to be escalated to the GM.
Act as coverage backup when that is the priority. Available when reasonable to cover a shortage of heads when needed. Run shifts when a supervisor is unavailable due to surprise or planned reasons.
Assist GM with Weekly Scheduling and Timesheet review
Contribute to the drafting of weekly schedules. Make suggestions, write drafts, and implement discussed plans from the GM. Help ensure the schedule is thoroughly reviewed and all factors are well considered.
Assist with making changes to already published schedules when needed.
Assist with updating and reconciling all timesheets to ensure they are an accurate reflection of what occurred during each week. Write clear and helpful notes within timesheets to explain special situations when applicable.Assist the Cafe Manager with Building a Great Team
Participate in, or lead, monthly 1-on-1’s with all team members.
Help plan and lead regular Shift Supervisor meetings.
Help lead team growth through training, coaching, and managing individual growths plans for each team member.
Lead the entire team by example as an elite ambassador of Loyal Coffee’s vision, purpose, and goals.
