Position Overview: Assists a manager with the management of a sub-unit within a department. Responsible for planning, organizing, and developing goals and procedures. Represents the sub-unit to administrators, outside agencies, and others on relevant matters. Supervises subordinate staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Food Safety and Presentation: Monitor food preparation methods, portion sizes, freshness, and presentation of food. Ensure that food is prepared according to food safety guidelines and presented acceptably.
  2. Cash Handling: Count money and process deposits. Ensure proper handling of cash by employees, particularly cashiers.
  3. Staff Management: Manage staff, prepare work schedules, determine staffing requirements, and assign duties. Coordinate cooking personnel assignments to ensure economical use of food and timely preparation.
  4. Recruitment and Training: Interview, hire, and train new employees. Develop existing staff.
  5. Food Knowledge: Possess knowledge and experience in food products and preparation.
  6. Inventory Management: Order and receive food and beverage deliveries, and verify product quality and quantity upon receipt.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with some supervisory experience, or a combination of education and/or supervisory experience totaling four years.
