Position: Assistant Manager/FOH Manager

Location: Jeffersonville, Indiana

Jeffersonville, IN is seeking an assistant manager for our location. The ideal candidate is attentive, ambitious, and engaged.

As a Front of House Manager, you will be responsible for the physical, technical, and overall execution of all daily Front of House operations, with a focus on staff management. This role extends the responsibilities of the General Manager and involves collaboration with other managers and the Executive Chef to deliver exceptional customer service, featuring fresh, locally sourced foods and Upland’s award-winning beers.

Key goals include: delivering top-notch, beer-knowledgeable service; maintaining a professional and engaged staff; maximizing efficiency and profitability; and recruiting, training, and motivating staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Staff Management: Participate in hiring and training, lead by example, manage staff expectations, enforce policies, and develop training materials.
  • Staff Training & Education: Develop and maintain training on beer, menu, wine, and customer service; conduct knowledge assessments; coach staff performance.
  • Accountability: Communicate expectations, enforce policies, monitor duties, and foster teamwork.
  • Cost Control: Monitor waste, staff consumption, and proper charging.
  • Staff Communication: Effectively communicate company vision, handle conflicts, and keep staff informed of promotions, policies, and events.
  • Employee Retention: Develop retention programs, ensure adequate tips, recognize staff achievements, and organize staff outings.
Floor Management
  • Ensure excellent customer service, delegate shifts, resolve issues, and create a welcoming environment.
  • Identify procedural improvements and communicate with GM for implementation.
Facilities Maintenance
  • Coordinate maintenance, address issues promptly, and communicate inventory needs.
Administrative Operations
  • Assist with inventory, scheduling, communication, and meetings.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Understand brewing processes, menu philosophy, POS and draught systems, and maintain safety standards (ServSafe Certification).
Minimum Qualifications
  • 3+ years customer service experience
  • 1 year in management at a high-volume restaurant
  • Passion for craft beer and customer experience
  • Strong work ethic, ethical, credible, and optimistic
  • Self-motivated, able to prioritize and multitask, work under pressure, and communicate effectively with diverse staff.
