Job summary

Chico's in Monterey is seeking an Assistant Manager to partner with the Store Manager in leading the team and delivering a seamless, personalized customer experience.

You will drive the store's financial goals, develop associates, and lead by example on the sales floor using product knowledge and omni-channel approaches.

This role requires 3 years of retail management experience, flexible availability, and a strong commitment to hospitality and community engagement.

About the role

As an Assistant Manager, you will assist the Store Manager in leading the team, building community connections, and creating a seamless customer experience. • Take ownership to ensure safe and efficient store operations including inventory management, daily replenishment of floor merchandise, and execution of inventories.
• Ensure compliance with all policies, guidelines, and business practices.
• Build community connections through in-store company-sponsored events, philanthropy, and other initiatives.

Must be at least 18 years old.

3 years of retail management experience preferred.

Flexible availability — including nights, weekends, and holidays.

A team player mindset with a high level of ownership and initiative.

Ability to develop strong customer and peer relationships.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to bend, reach, stretch for products as well as maneuver around the sales floor and stockroom, operate the register, and lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
