Job summary

The Cosmopolitan, part of MGM Resorts International in Las Vegas, seeks an Assistant Manager for Convention & Banquets Setup. You will oversee day-to-day convention setup, ensure events run smoothly, and contribute to an exceptional guest experience through proactive service and teamwork.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or GED and 2+ years of relevant experience, with flexibility to work weekends/holidays and strong computer skills including MS Office, SharePoint, and Excel.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years of relevant experience in convention/banquets or similar setting.
• Ability to work varied shifts including weekends and holidays.
• Experience working under a Collective Bargaining Agreement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate setup and breakdown of conventions, meetings and banquets.
• Maintain rapport with clients and convention/services managers to ensure satisfaction.
• Attend weekly pre-conference meetings for upcoming events.
• Inventory items to maintain proper par stock.
• Ensure accurate event setups and communicate policies to staff.
• Address employee concerns and resolve issues satisfactorily.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
