POSITION OBJECTIVE:

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in fostering a customer and product-focused sales culture, aligning with our values and guiding principles. Responsibilities include managing sales operations, asset protection, and human resources to ensure a great customer experience and maximize profitability. FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performance Culture
  • Analyze sales reports and KPIs to assess business needs; collaborate with Store Manager to execute sales strategies.
  • Set clear expectations and hold the team accountable for brand, performance, and behavior standards.
  • Manage payroll and supply budgets.
  • Oversee operational activities like scheduling, inventory, opening/closing duties, and merchandise flow.
  • Handle financial activities including cash handling, price changes, and register transactions following policies.
  • Ensure compliance with laws and policies; conduct associate training on controls.
  • Manage inventory receipt, dispatch, replenishment, and physical inventories.
  • Maintain visual presentation and store organization to reflect the brand.
  • Develop a high-performance sales culture, motivating the team to meet sales goals.
  • Train and coach staff on product knowledge and selling techniques.
Building High Performing Teams
  • Motivate and inspire the team, promoting shared vision and core values.
  • Foster an inclusive, collaborative problem-solving environment.
  • Communicate effectively with the team and Store Manager to lead positive change.
  • Seek personal development and feedback to enhance leadership skills.
Customer Experience
  • Promote and model the Most Amazing Personal Service (MAPS) principles, ensuring an omni-channel experience.
  • Utilize sales techniques and product knowledge to assist customers and recommend merchandise.
  • Resolve customer concerns promptly.
  • Ensure efficient register operations and adherence to payment policies.
  • Maintain consistent communication with customers through loyalty programs and sign-ups.
Talent
  • Assist in recruiting, hiring, and developing a high-performing team.
  • Support training initiatives and assess team performance.
  • Address HR issues promptly and effectively.
  • Drive engagement by recognizing employee achievements.
  • Ensure compliance with employment policies.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years retail management experience preferred
  • Must be 18 or older
  • Excellent communication skills

  • Proven customer service and leadership skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Leadership, training, and team-building skills
  • Knowledge of store operations and administration
  • Effective communication with staff and customers
  • Reliable attendance; flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Constant walking/standing (67-100%)
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. (1-33%)
  • Frequent climbing (34-66%)
