Job summary

National Vision, owner of America’s Best, is recruiting an Assistant Eyeglass Manager in Texas to oversee the eyeglass department and drive sales while ensuring compliance with company policies. The role focuses on coaching staff, maintaining exceptional customer service, and managing daily operations.

You will partner with store leadership to forecast staffing needs, monitor financial performance, and implement promotions and merchandising strategies across the department.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in reading and speaking English and Spanish is required or preferred.
• Experience in optical sales; supervising experience is a plus.
• Proven ability to lead, coach, and build relationships with staff.
• Strong understanding of store operations and performance standards.
• Ability to analyze and interpret financial reports.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the eyeglass department to ensure efficiency and policy compliance.
• Monitor profit, sales and performance goals (reviewing the P&L).
• Motivate associates to meet performance standards and deliver excellent customer service.
• Coordinate with General Manager, District Manager, and Corporate Office; provide store reports.
• Assist with staffing forecasts, recruiting, and retaining qualified staff.

Job Description

What would you do? – The Specifics

• Monitor and achieve profit, sales and performance goals (i.e. reviewing the P&L).
• Optimize and oversee the eyeglass department to ensure efficiency and compliance with company’s policies and operational guidelines.
• Convey a commitment to providing outstanding customer service and ensure all associates do the same.
• Ensure quality standards are met. Review remakes and enforce policies to ensure compliance.
• Communicate with the General Manger, District Manager, and Corporate Office and provide store reporting as required.
• Ensure store promotions, advertising, and visual merchandising are in place and all associates and doctors are aware of current promotions.
• Supervise and motivate Opticians and CL Sales associates (in some stores the Receptionist) and ensures the timely completion of day-to-day functions.
• Assist the General Manager with forecasting staffing needs, recruiting, selecting and retaining a high caliber staff.
• Motivate associates to exceed performance standards.
• In some locations, state laws require certain responsibilities to be performed by individuals with specific licenses or credentials. Job duties and work practices may vary to meet these requirements.

• Strong organizational skills for planning work and continuously monitoring progress towards goals.
• Ability to analyze, create, and understand financial reports.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems of varied scope.
