Job summary

America's Best in Baytown, TX is seeking an Assistant Eyeglass Manager to lead daily store operations, oversee eyewear sales, and ensure a top customer experience across every interaction.

In this role you will supervise staff, manage scheduling, analyze performance, assist with forecasting and recruiting, and drive promotions that align with company standards while keeping associates engaged and motivated.

Qualifications

• Fluent in reading and speaking both English and Spanish.
• Optical sales experience; supervising experience preferred.
• Proven ability to lead, coach and build associate relationships.
• Strong understanding of store operations and standards for success.
• Strong communication skills for effective management of teams.
• Strong organizational skills for planning work and monitoring progress toward goals.
• Ability to analyze, create, and understand financial reports.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems of varied scope.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and achieve profit, sales and performance goals (e.g. reviewing the P&L).
• Oversee the eyeglass department to ensure efficiency and policy compliance.
• Provide outstanding customer service and ensure the same from all associates.
• Review remakes and enforce quality standards and compliance.
• Communicate with General Manager, District Manager and Corporate Office; provide store reporting.
• Ensure promotions, advertising and visual merchandising are in place and known by staff and doctors.
• Supervise and motivate Opticians and CL Sales associates; ensure day-to-day tasks are completed.
• Assist General Manager with staffing forecasts, recruiting and retaining top talent.
• Motivate staff to surpass performance goals.
• Duties may vary to meet state licensure or credential requirements.

Job Description

What would you do? – The Specifics

• Monitor and achieve profit, sales and performance goals (i.e. reviewing the P&L).
• Optimize and oversee the eyeglass department to ensure efficiency and compliance with company’s policies and operational guidelines.
• Convey a commitment to providing outstanding customer service and ensure all associates do the same.
• Ensure quality standards are met. Review remakes and enforce policies to ensure compliance.
• Communicate with the General Manger, District Manager, and Corporate Office and provide store reporting as required.
• Ensure store promotions, advertising, and visual merchandising are in place and all associates and doctors are aware of current promotions.
• Supervise and motivate Opticians and CL Sales associates (in some stores the Receptionist) and ensures the timely completion of day-to-day functions.
• Assist the General Manager with forecasting staffing needs, recruiting, selecting and retaining a high caliber staff.
• Motivate associates to exceed performance standards.
• In some locations, state laws require certain responsibilities to be performed by individuals with specific licenses or credentials. Job duties and work practices may vary to meet these requirements.
