Job summary

Friends of Switchpoint Inc. is seeking a hands-on Coffee Shop Lead to ensure smooth daily operations and exceptional guest experiences.

You will supervise and coach staff, train new hires on service standards and safety, and help manage scheduling and inventory in a fast-paced cafe environment. Qualifications

• Previous customer service or food service experience required.
• Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Basic computer and cash-handling skills.
• Ability to lead by example and maintain a positive attitude.
• Flexible schedule, including availability for mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the daily operation of the coffee shop to ensure efficient and effective service.
• Support the Coffee Shop Manager in supervising, coaching, and developing staff.
• Help train new employees on customer service standards, food safety procedures, and operational expectations.
• Provide excellent customer service and assist in resolving customer concerns or complaints.
• Assist with scheduling and staffing to ensure adequate coverage during business hours.
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies and products as needed.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and company policies.
• Support cash handling procedures, daily deposits, and accurate recordkeeping.
• Assist in maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for customers and staff.
• Help monitor employee performance and provide feedback to support growth and accountability.
• Step into leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Coffee Shop Manager.
• Foster a positive team culture that promotes collaboration, professionalism, and excellent customer service.
