Job summary

Jimmy John's is hiring an Assistant Manager to help run operations across second and third shifts at a Jimmy John's location owned by Johnny's Market in Michigan. You will support the Manager, enforce policies, and ensure clean, safe operations around the clock. Availability for 24-hour coverage is required as needed.

You will lead staff, maintain inventory, handle cash and HR tasks, and ensure compliance with franchise standards. This role offers competitive pay and benefits after probation.

Qualifications

• Strong communication to interact with employees, customers, supervisors, and vendors.
• Detail-oriented, adaptable to change, and able to multi-task daily.
• Basic computer skills including Word, Excel, and email.
• Ability to speak, read, and write in English; interpret operating manuals and procedures.
• Ability to count and make change.
• Willingness to work any area of the store and operate a computerized register.
• Valid driver\'s license and ability to pass MVR check.
• High school degree or 1–2 years related experience.

Responsibilities

• Keep the facility clean, safe, well-supplied, and well-staffed.
• Provide excellent customer service and promptly address complaints.
• Control cash levels and help manage operating expenses and inventory.
• Perform HR duties including training, scheduling, and supervising the team.
• Assist with ordering, receiving, and stock rotation; check in vendors.
• Follow franchise guidelines for pricing, displays, and promotions.
• Rotate food as per franchise standards and report spoilage.
• Report maintenance, accidents, and security issues immediately.
• When the Manager is away, complete daily bookwork and deposits.
