Job summary

Ontario Trillium Foundation is hiring for days, nights and weekend shifts in a fast-paced kitchen and delivery environment. The role is hourly with possible overtime, with an emphasis on customer service, accurate order handling, and teamwork.

The ideal candidate will be 21+, able to learn all kitchen and delivery processes, operate a POS, and lift up to 70 lbs. Health insurance after 90 days, with discount programs available.

• Handle customer requests and complaints promptly and respectfully
• Take customer orders and operate POS system
• Manage cash drawers and perform End of Day counts
• Learn kitchen and delivery processes and recipes; assist with daily specials and training

Job description

Schedule

We are hiring for days, nights, and weekend shifts

• Day time hours Shifts start around 7am, 8am, or 10am
• Week night and weekend night hours start at 2 pm, 3pm, or 4pm
• Mixed hours availability
• Part time with the goal of full time within 12 months
• This is a hourly position with possibility of overtime when needed, but not scheduled.

Job Duties

You will assist and supplement our manager and help customers and staff.

• Handle customer request and complaints in a timely and respectful manor
• Help keep staff on track and keep kitchen times down
• Take customer orders
• Ability to navigate our company POS system
• Handle cash drawers and get daily cash counts on and ready

You will need to learn all aspects of our kitchen and delivery processes.

• Learn our signature recipes and measurements.
• Able to use a company vehicle to deliver to customers and catering
• Must be able to work independently, learn the process and replicate it every day
• Ability to notice a breakdown before it happens (Missing an item, wrong toppings on a sandwich, wrong side packed up etc.)

Other Duties

• Check in, organize and catalog grocery orders from our vendors
• Prep sides daily
• make sauces, and help set up for daily specials and train others on the proper way to prepare each daily special
• Assist other staff with their prep needs if necessary

Ideal candidate

• Must be 21+
• Available for days, nights and weekends. We understand there needs to be a work life balance, and we try to accommodate this as best we can. We operate 7 days a week and schedule for a mix of these shifts.
• Strong communication skills, you must be able to talk with customers and staff, communicate helpful solutions to their questions, and convey to staff a direction in which the shift needs to run.
• Have the ability to lead a team to a standard labor goal set by the company.
• Able to handle closing out cash drawers and preforming End of Day counts for deposits
• Can be here on time, every time. You may be the only person opening the doors for support staff.
• Able to learn managing task and reporting on our POS.
• Must have a clean driving history as management are to help with any overflow deliveries. Access to a company vehicle is possible most times, but access to your own is preferred and mileage is reimbursed for your own vehicle.
• Able to lift up to 70lbs when needed or able to assist.
