Job Description

Merry Maids in Newport News is looking to expand their office team. This leadership position is ideal for a self-starter with a strong work ethic, excellent customer service and time management skills, employee coaching/development skills, and strong leadership qualities. The candidate must be available to work Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM and willing to put in extra hours if needed. A positive attitude and exceptional work ethic are essential. This fast-paced environment suits high-energy individuals who are quick learners and capable of multitasking. Responsibilities

  • Open and close the office Monday through Friday.
  • Recruit, hire, and supervise a staff of 20+ cleaning technicians.
  • Ensure all daily operations are carried out efficiently and cost-effectively, maintaining high customer satisfaction.
  • Train and onboard new team members.
  • Manage daily schedules for customers and employees.
  • Answer phone calls and conduct phone sales.
  • Build strong, positive relationships with cleaning staff.

Skills and Abilities Needed

  • Proven experience as a manager or in a similar role.
  • Outstanding telephone communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and courteously with customers, employees, and potential clients. Confidence in speaking and handling inquiries, complaints, and problem resolution.
  • Leadership ability, demonstrating reliability, determination, and a proactive attitude. Capable of working independently without requiring constant oversight, encouraging and developing others, and taking initiative.
  • Attention to detail to ensure quality work and thoroughness, completing responsibilities accurately without reminders.
  • Ability to follow company standards, policies, and procedures effectively.
  • Professionalism in speech, dress, and demeanor, reflecting the company's image both verbally and in writing.
  • Computer proficiency with email, spreadsheets, calendars, and data entry accuracy.
  • Positive attitude—upbeat, energetic, friendly, cheerful, with a good sense of humor.
  • Effective time management skills, prioritizing responsibilities to ensure tasks are completed efficiently.

*This position offers salary pay and benefits such as health insurance, paid vacation, personal days, and growth bonuses.

Salary range: $31,000 - $36,000 based on experience.
