What You’ll do

The Assistant Store Manager oversees inventory management, associate leadership, and customer engagement. Your strategic decision-making, team cultivation, and operational excellence are critical to our store’s success.

  1. Foster a positive, inclusive work environment promoting teamwork, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
  2. Oversee inventory management, stock replenishment, and merchandise displays to optimize sales and customer satisfaction.
  3. Make impactful decisions regarding hiring, coaching, performance management, and terminations.
  4. Conduct performance reviews, identify development areas, and recognize achievements.
  5. Set clear expectations and hold associates accountable, fostering a culture of accountability.
  6. Champion exceptional customer service by engaging with customers, resolving inquiries, and enhancing their shopping experience.
  7. Coach and train associates on customer engagement to ensure high performance.
  8. Address negative customer experiences by defusing situations and empowering your team to resolve issues.
  9. Report regularly to the Store Manager on departmental performance, associate progress, and operational issues.
  10. Ensure store compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
  11. Align operational procedures with company policies and legal regulations.
  12. Drive company initiatives such as the customer engagement model, RK Visa Card, and RK Plus Protection Plan.
  13. Supervise firearm transaction procedures, including proper disposal when designated.
  14. Conduct audits for compliance in sales, cash handling, inventory, firearms, and security protocols.
  15. Analyze shrinkage data, identify trends, and implement loss prevention measures.
  16. Lead the team with autonomy, judgment, and discretion to meet or exceed store goals.
  17. Participate in cross-training for departmental flexibility.
  18. Use discretion and maintain confidentiality in daily decisions.
  19. Engage in learning initiatives like training programs, workshops, and webinars to stay current.
  20. Provide professional support to internal and external stakeholders.

  22. Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods.
  • Operate machinery like forklifts, pallet jacks, and inventory devices.
  • Lift, push, or pull at least 30 pounds repeatedly and up to 50 pounds intermittently.
  • Navigate all store facilities.
  • Communicate effectively in person and electronically.
  • Close vision for computer tasks.
