This role is an important partner to the Property Manager and touches nearly every part of the community—from resident accounts and collections to leasing, financial administration, resident relations, and day-to-day operations.

If you understand multifamily operations, pay attention to the details, and are ready to continue growing your property management career, we’d love to meet you.

And when the Property Manager is unavailable, you’ll be prepared to step in and help keep the community running smoothly.

What You’ll Own

  • Support the Property Manager with the daily operations of the community

  • Collect, post, and accurately process rent, fees, deposits, and other resident payments

  • Monitor resident account balances and proactively manage delinquency and collections

  • Prepare notices and support lease-enforcement and eviction processes in accordance with company policy and applicable regulations

  • Process invoices and maintain accurate financial and resident records

  • Assist with monthly reporting, reconciliations, and administrative processes

  • Maintain accurate resident files, lease documentation, move-in records, and move-out documentation

  • Support lease renewals, notices, and resident retention initiatives

  • Assist residents with questions, concerns, account issues, and service needs

  • Partner with maintenance and leasing teams to support smooth community operations

  • Assist with leasing activity, apartment tours, applications, and move-ins when needed

  • Maintain accurate information within OneSite or the community’s designated property management platform

  • Support marketing and occupancy initiatives

  • Follow Fair Housing, company policies, lease requirements, and applicable property-management regulations

  • Serve as an onsite leadership resource when the Property Manager is unavailable

What Success Looks Like

  • Resident accounts and community records are accurate and current

  • Delinquencies are addressed quickly and consistently

  • Residents receive timely and professional communication

  • Move‑ins, renewals, and move‑outs are processed accurately

  • Financial and operational deadlines are consistently met

  • Leasing, maintenance, and management teams communicate effectively

  • The Property Manager can confidently rely on you to keep priorities moving

  • You are building the skills needed for your next step in property management leadership

  • Previous multifamily property management experience required

  • Assistant Manager, Assistant Property Manager, Leasing, or comparable onsite experience strongly preferred

  • Working knowledge of rent collections, resident accounts, leasing, and property operations

  • Availability to work weekends or extended hours as community needs require

For Affordable/LIHTC Communities:

  • [Two or more years of Tax Credit/LIHTC experience required, if applicable]

  • [Additional affordable-housing compliance requirements, if applicable]

Community‑Specific Requirements:

  • [Bilingual English/Spanish required/preferred, if applicable]

  • [OneSite experience required/preferred]

  • [Other property-specific requirement]

What Sets You Apart

  • You catch details before they become problems

  • You’re comfortable discussing balances and collections professionally

  • You can shift between numbers, residents, leasing, and operations without losing focus

  • You take ownership instead of waiting for someone to tell you what needs to happen

  • Residents know they’ll get a clear answer when they come to you

  • Your Property Manager can trust you to follow through

  • You want to continue growing into property leadership

Why This Role

An Assistant Manager role is one of the strongest stepping stones into multifamily leadership.

You’ll gain exposure to the financial, operational, leasing, resident‑relations, and team‑management sides of running a successful community while working closely with an experienced Property Manager.

At IREG, we want talented team members who are interested in building careers—not simply filling positions.
