Job summary

WHBM in Des Peres, MO is seeking an Assistant Manager to partner with the Store Manager in leading the team, building community connections, and delivering a seamless, personalized customer experience.

You’ll develop your team, own key metrics, hire and coach associates, and model hospitality on the sales floor while upholding brand standards and safe store operations.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• 3 years of retail management experience preferred.
• Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong leadership and teamwork skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

About The Role

As an Assistant Manager, you will assist the Store Manager in leading the team, building community connections, and creating a seamless customer experience. This position helps foster a welcoming environment—for both associates and customers—that enables us to create memorable, personalized experiences that reflect our culture of hospitality.

You'll bring to the role

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• 3 years of retail management experience preferred.
• Flexible availability — including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• A team player mindset with a high level of ownership and initiative.
• Ability to develop strong customer and peer relationships.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to bend, reach, stretch for products as well as maneuver around the sales floor and stockroom, operate the register, and lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
