Job summary

Habit Burger & Grill in Florida is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the General Manager in daily operations, drive guest satisfaction, and lead a high-energy team.

You will recruit, train, and coach FOH and BOH staff, uphold food safety and quality standards, manage schedules, and monitor costs while advancing within a culture that rewards performance.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience in related food service management preferred.
  • High school degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Food Manager Certification and/or ServSafe Manager Certificate required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in daily restaurant operations and shift management.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and training of FOH & BOH Team Members.

You are responsible for coordinating communication and teamwork in the management team to meet restaurant goals. This position is key to maintaining and growing sales by delivering an exceptional, quality customer experience every time.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSAssist in recruiting, hiring, and onboarding of FOH & BOH Team Members.Assist and supervise the training and development of FOH & BOH Team Members.Uphold food preparation specifics by ensuring standard operational procedures are followed for consistent delivery of quality food items.Communicate, train, and educate Team Members and Shift Leaders on all changes or new procedures, processes, products, promotions, or equipment introduced to the restaurantConduct Succession Planning 1-on-1s with designated Team Members.Ensure Team Members comply with all established standards, including personal safety, food safety, sanitation, personal hygiene, appearance, and uniform.Manage daily operations of a restaurant shift.Increase sales by ensuring guest satisfaction and prompt problem resolution.Ensure food quality and availability.Maintain cleanliness, organization, and stocking in all areas of the restaurant.Assist in the development of Team MembersMaintain and build sales.Conducting and managing inventory.Placing food orders and processing invoices.Track and manage labor and food costs to meet restaurant goals.Assist in the preparation of work schedules for Team Members.Manage daily operations of opening, closing and mid shifts.Maintain restaurant equipment in working order and request service or repair for issues.Directly responsible for maintaining food safety, personal safety, and sanitation standards for the restaurant according to health department regulations and company standards.Comply with and maintain personal hygiene, appearance, and uniform standards for all Team Members.Monitor adherence to all applicable labor laws.Other projects/duties as assigned by the Restaurant General Manager.BENEFITSWe are proud to offer competitive pay as well as career advancement opportunities and a referral bonus program. The Team Member is frequently exposed to heat, steam, fire, and noise.SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTSStrong knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures in a restaurant.Basic knowledge of general business practices.Read, write, and communicate effectively in English.Basic math skills and computer competency.Customer service focused and oriented.Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.Demonstrate excellent leadership qualities and professionalism.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS2-4 year of experience in related food service management position preferred.High school degree or equivalent preferred.Food Manager Certification and/or ServSafe Manager Certificate required.Ability to work a flexible full-time schedule based on restaurant needs.Ability to travel occasionally for meetings, conferences, and training.NOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
