Habit Burger & Grill in Lake Forest, CA is seeking a Shift Leader to oversee front-of-house and back-of-house operations during a shift. You will lead a high-performing team, mentor staff, and partner with the management team to meet guest satisfaction, food quality, and safety standards.

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience in food service management preferred, or 2 years in other food service roles.
• Food Manager Certification and/or ServSafe Manager Certificate required.
• High school degree or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and interact in a polite, friendly manner.
• Assist in recruiting and hiring FOH staff and train them to meet service standards.
• Oversee daily restaurant shift operations and ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Control food and labor costs, meet sales goals, and maintain product quality.
• Open/close the restaurant following checklists and reconcile cash deposits.
• Support FOH and BOH positions as needed and uphold labor laws.

You will assist in ensuring an exceptional service experience for every guest. The Team Member is frequently exposed to heat, steam, fire, and noise.SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTSStrong knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices and procedures in a restaurant.Read, write and communicate effectively in English.Basic math skills and computer competency.Customer service focused and oriented.Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.Demonstrate leadership qualities and professionalism.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS1 year of experience in related food service management position preferred, or 2 years of experience in other food service position.High school degree or equivalent preferred.Food Manager Certification and/or ServSafe Manager Certificate required.Ability to work a flexible full-time schedule based on restaurant needs.Ability to travel occasionally for meetings, conferences, and training.NOTE: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
