Space Age Fuel Inc. Beaverton, OR is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in daily operations, sales objectives, and customer service excellence.

You will lead a team, handle training, and ensure high standards of safety and presentation in a busy retail environment. Responsibilities include cash handling, inventory control, and administrative tasks while representing the company in the local community.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; associate/bachelor preferred.
• Minimum 2 years retail experience with 1 year in leadership.
• Proficiency with POS systems and Excel.

• Maintain accurate cash handling, including tills, change orders, and daily reconciliation.
• Accept and verify deliveries, manage stock levels, and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Perform administrative tasks including morning paperwork and basic Excel reporting.
• Foster a clean, safe, and welcoming store environment for customers and employees.
• Operate the register and assist with fuel pumping when needed.
• Represent Space Age Fuel positively both inside the store and in the surrounding community.
• Participate in store meetings and communicate ideas or solutions for improvement.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

About the Role:

The Assistant Manager plays a pivotal role in supporting the Store Manager to ensure smooth, efficient store operations. This position is responsible for driving sales, delivering outstanding customer service, and supporting daily activities that align with business goals. The Assistant Manager leads by example, motivates the team, fosters a positive work environment, and helps uphold company standards in service, safety, and presentation. This role also serves as a liaison between employees, customers, and company leadership, promoting Space Age Fuel’s values and image within the community.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in retail, with 1 year in a supervisory or leadership position.
• Strong understanding of retail operations, customer service, and sales principles.
• Basic proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or related field.
• Experience with inventory management systems and retail analytics tools.
• Training or certification in leadership or retail management.
• Familiarity with merchandising and visual display standards.
