Honda is seeking a skilled engineering professional to advance supplier stability and regional performance across North American manufacturing. You will collaborate with Honda teams to assess supplier crises, drive corrective actions, and support production with a focus on timely issue resolution and delivery reliability.

The role requires strong engineering background, 8+ years in manufacturing, and experience with supplier-critical environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent related experience.
• Minimum 8+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Manufacturing process knowledge and Honda delivery systems knowledge (GPCS).

Responsibilities

• Support NA Crisis mitigation and countermeasures for OEM Suppliers.
• Assist supplier delivery performance and root-cause analysis.
• Manage supplier crisis evaluations and correct-ive action plans.
• Lead continuous improvement through PDCA and capacity management.

Job PurposeThis roles mission statement is to “Advance our ability to improve supply chain stability with a single and efficient regional mindset.” This contributes to maintaining strong delivery characteristics with a regional viewpoint in order to support smooth production operations across North American manufacturing facilities ensuring customer satisfaction.Under limited supervision, responsible for supporting NA Crisis mitigation and countermeasure for OEM Suppliers and supporting supplier Delivery performance, in addition to other duties not specified but required for production and/or other core business activities. Participates in broad scope projects and handles critical supplier situations.

Approach to job:

Collaborate with Suppliers and other Honda technical leaders to achieve supplier stabilityReview proposals with leadership for final direction settingMinimize supplier touchpoints thru optimizing activity.Clearly summarize each supplier situation so issue, impact, root cause and CM are clearly escalated

Key Accountabilities

Manage and Direct situation appraisal and analysis of a supplier crisis on a specific part or assembly process.Manage and oversee implementation of immediate corrective action plan (short term and long term) at critical suppliers.Escalate communication, interaction and summary reviews with supplier and HDMA Management.Manage critical proactive projects (Capacity Management / LMPR / A-Rank NARS reporting, Shutdown, Etc.)Support reporting and Gemba activity for root cause analysis / countermeasure implementation to solve complex problems w/ attention to closure speed and effectivenessStrive for continuous improvement through cycling Plan Do Check Action (PDCA) for area of responsibility (Capacity and/or Special projects) to ensure associate successManage a team of direct report associates

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Minimum Educational Qualifications :Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent related experienceMinimum Experience:8+ YEARS OF RELEVANT ENGINEERING EXPERIENCEOther Job-Specific Skills :Manufacturing process knowledge (stamping, welding, assembly, material flow, electronics, injection molding, paint, casting, machining, etc)HONDA delivery systems knowledge (GPCS)

Strong Sense of urgency and flexibility to respond to critical issues and unplanned risk eventsAbility to travel at moments notice to confirm supplier situation at the spot (33% time)Ability to work in an open office environment, at a suppliers operations, or conduct business virtually where expectations are maintained.Ability to work 1st,2nd, or 3rd shift in a limited basis to support on-site supplier crisis.Ability to work up to 5-15 hours OT each week as needed
