Assistant Maintenance Supervisor (Req #936)

Summary

Responsible for the day-to-day and overall maintenance of the apartment community under the supervision of the Service Manager or Supervisor. This role involves increasing responsibilities and directing staff in the absence of the Service Manager or Supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Perform light maintenance on appliances, electrical repairs, plumbing work, and painting.
  • Replace broken fixtures, glass, tiles, and locks; assist with carpentry, custodial, grounds, and repair work.
  • Participate in emergency standby schedules; refurbish apartments before occupancy.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, inventories, and purchase orders.
  • Perform scheduled equipment maintenance and understand water, gas, and sewer shut-offs.
  • Assist with apartment check-in/out inspections; adhere to Resident Education Program.
  • Maintain property standards according to LPR policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent; minimum two years related experience or training.
  • Training in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, refurbishing, cleaning, air conditioning, or appliance repair is a plus.
  • Ability to interpret documents, write reports, and perform basic math.
  • Ability to follow instructions and solve problems involving concrete variables.
  • Physical ability to perform labor, lift up to 50 pounds, and meet vision requirements.
