Overview

Hoffer Plastics is seeking a qualified individual to support maintenance operations on our plastic injection molding equipment, including Krauss Maffei and Demag presses. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining machinery, assisting in team leadership, and ensuring safety and efficiency on the manufacturing floor.

Responsibilities

1. Control downtime by troubleshooting and diagnosing issues efficiently.
2. Fabricate repair parts using machine shop tools.
3. Assist the Maintenance Supervisor with team training and leadership.
4. Operate as backup for supervisory duties.
5. Maintain inventory of parts and supplies, anticipate needs, and verify receipts.
6. Attend technical workshops and review publications to stay updated.
7. Perform repairs on chillers, thermolators, resin driers, loader systems, grinders, and tower fans.
8. Maintain a safe, clean working environment according to procedures and regulations.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience (10+ years) repairing injection molding presses, especially Krauss Maffei and Demag.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and diagrams.
• Welding skills; machining skills are a plus.
• Leadership experience preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot and make decisions independently.

Physical Requirements

Work in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise. Must be able to stand, walk, lift up to 55 pounds, and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, and climbing. PPE required.
