Hoffer Plastics is hiring for an "Assistant Maintenance Supervisor", 1st shift.

Play a key role in producing plastic components that make everyday life possible, from transportation to food packaging to healthcare.

Starting Pay: $27.25 - $38.75

1st Shift Hours: 7:00 am - 4:00 pm

Responsibilities:
  1. Control downtime by effectively troubleshooting and diagnosing problems quickly and accurately.
  2. Fabricate repair parts using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
  3. Assist Maintenance Supervisor with training, development, and leading the maintenance team.
  4. Operate as a backup to the Maintenance Supervisor for supervisory responsibilities.
  5. Work with tool crib attendant to maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories, check levels, anticipate needs, and manage orders.
  6. Maintain technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing publications, and establishing networks.
  7. Repair chillers, thermolators, resin driers, loader systems, grinders, and tower fans.
  8. Ensure a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures and regulations.
  9. Observe safety rules and wear prescribed protective clothing.
  10. Perform other related duties as assigned.
  11. Maintain a positive work atmosphere and continue to grow job-specific knowledge.
Physical Requirements:
  • Work in a clean manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels.
  • Stand and walk for significant portions of the shift.
  • Lifting up to 55 pounds.
  • Bending, stooping, twisting, balancing, kneeling, and crouching involved.
  • Push and pull items as needed.
  • Ascend/descend and work on equipment and ladders.
  • Occasionally work in small cramped spaces.
  • Wear appropriate PPE, including fire-retardant apparel.
Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience (10+ years) repairing injection molding presses, specifically Krauss Maffei and Demag.
  • Ability to work independently with solid knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic disciplines.
  • Leadership experience is required.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and decision-making ability.
  • Strong understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical applications, and blueprints.
  • Ability to read and interpret prints and diagrams.
  • Welding skills; machining skills are a plus.
  • Team player capable of interacting across departments effectively.
