Responsibilities

Are you a hands-on problem solver who takes pride in keeping a community running smoothly? As a Live-In Assistant Maintenance Supervisor (Local 32BJ) at our 659 unit residential community in Brooklyn, NY, you will play a vital role in ensuring our buildings and grounds are safe, functional, and inviting. You’ll perform a variety of maintenance tasks, from plumbing and electrical repairs to HVAC and carpentry work, all while upholding our high standards for quality and safety.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Must be willing to live on-site
• Perform property maintenance and facilities work.
• Coordinate completion of resident and management service requests in a timely manner.
• Prepare vacant units to occupancy standard within established time frame.
• Inspect property mechanical systems and grounds; immediately address safety issues with management.
• Conduct routine preventative maintenance activities in partnership with supervisor.
• Partner with Maintenance Supervisor to prepare site for inspections.
• Maintain workplace safety policies and standards.
• Rotating on-call responsibility for emergency maintenance repairs.
• Maintain inventory of building materials and supplies.
• Must be a team player and be able to work with little supervision.
• Support site and office operations as assigned by manager.

COMPENSATION:

• $24.36 / hour

Qualifications

• 3+ years general residential maintenance or facilities experience.
• Experience with affordable housing preferred
• 2+ years of supervisory experience.
• HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, painting and electrical experience.
• Experience with Real Page OneSite or other property management system preferred.
• Must be willing to join Local 32BJ union
• Emergency on-call roatation is required, as needed
• Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and be able to stand for an 8-hour shift.
• The Assistant Maintenance Supervisor is an in-person, live-in role based in Brooklyn, New York
• Demonstrates accountability and reliability by taking full ownership of projects and outcomes, prioritizing precision and attention to detail, and approaching challenges with grit, resilience, and proactive problem-solving, while continuously engaging in learning and development to enhance performance; fosters collaboration and a resident-centered environment, ensuring empathy, respect, and cross-functional success in
  all interactions.
• Bilingual Spanish is a plus.
• Personal standards of appearance and dress compatible with the Company’s standards.
