Job summary

The Addison Group seeks an Assistant Maintenance Manager to lead daily maintenance in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. You will prioritize work, coordinate repairs, and guide maintenance personnel to minimize downtime while upholding safety, quality, and reliability.

You will collaborate with production, quality, sanitation, and other departments to resolve issues, maintain uptime, and ensure proper sanitation and records.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Previous maintenance leadership or supervisory experience.
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS.
• Familiarity with production equipment, packaging machinery, and industrial maintenance practices.
• Knowledge of workplace safety, food safety, sanitation, and GMP.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and related business software.
• Strong troubleshooting, organizational, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical education or a bachelor's degree is a plus.
• Ability to work in cold production environments and meet physical demands.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily maintenance activities, assign work, and monitor work order completion.
• Prioritize equipment repairs and preventive maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
• Supervise and support maintenance technicians, provide feedback, and help develop team capabilities.
• Partner with production, quality, sanitation, and other departments to resolve equipment issues and maintain operational continuity.
• Ensure equipment is properly cleaned and returned to service after maintenance.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and performance reports.
• Use CMMS to track work, manage preventive maintenance schedules, and identify improvements.
• Develop preventive maintenance procedures using equipment documentation and manufacturer recommendations.
• Coordinate parts purchasing, evaluate vendor proposals, and support outsourced maintenance/repair activities.
• Monitor maintenance shop practices and ensure compliance with workplace safety, food safety, and sanitation requirements.
• Support training on maintenance procedures, systems, and safe work practices.
• Identify process improvements that increase technician efficiency, equipment availability, and department performance.
